Jaimie has been a practicing attorney in the Portland metro area since 2012. Jaimie joined Black Helterline in October 2022. Jaimie came to Black Helterline after four years working with a Portland insurance defense firm focusing on construction defect and general liability defense. Prior to that, Jaimie served as a volunteer prosecutor for the Washington County District Attorney’s Office; worked for a Seattle-based firm focusing on mortgage and lending litigation; and worked with Stuart M. Brown, a highly regarded Portland Litigator focusing predominantly on business and commercial litigation

PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

Jaimie served for many years on the Executive Committee of the Oregon New Lawyers Division of the Oregon State Bar. She was selected as the 2017 Volunteer of the Year and her 5-part Continuing Legal Education series entitled “Uncommonly Discussed Veterans Issues” was named the 2017 Project of the Year. Jaimie was the 2018 Chair of the Military & Veterans Law Section of the Oregon State Bar. She served as a Member of the Policy Advisory Board for Washington County’s Community Development Block Grant Program in 2018 and 2019. From 2019 to 2021, Jaimie served as the Co-Chair of the Multnomah Bar Association’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Ambassadors sub-committee and in 2022 served as the Chair of the Women in Law Affinity Group of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel. In 2022, she was named by Best Lawyers’ as a ‘One to Watch’ for 2022 for her outstanding professional excellence in private practice in the category of Construction Law and Insurance Law. Jaimie was again selected as a “One to Watch” in 2023 for Construction Law, Construction Litigation, and Insurance Law.

Though born in Eugene, Oregon and a proud University of Oregon alumnus, Jaimie worked in Paris for three years at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development before moving to London to attend law school. She is also a non-practicing English barrister and worked at Standard and Poors European Headquarters throughout law school. In 2017, Jaimie founded the King City Community Foundation, a registered 501c3 benefitting Jaimie’s hometown of King City, Oregon. That same year she was also appointed to the City Council of King City. Jaimie is also an Emerge Oregon 2021 alumnus. She is a proud mother of two boys, the enthusiastic owner of two rescued French Bulldogs, and the patient wife of another practicing attorney.
