International Planning
Natalia plans and implements strategies for the international expansion of our clients' operations abroad and foreign companies' expansion to the U.S. Her current and past projects have involved Canada, Central American countries, Australia, European countries, Japan, and several low-tax jurisdictions. She works closely with clients and, where necessary, foreign advisors in identifying appropriate legal and tax structures to establish foreign operations that best serve a client's cash flow, liability protection and tax goals. She also represents foreign companies looking at the U.S. market for expansion opportunities and advises them on issues involved in doing business in the United States.
Natalia also advises clients with assets in multiple jurisdictions on estate and tax planning and asset protection strategies.
Taxation
Natalia is involved in numerous tax planning projects on both corporate and individual levels, in areas ranging from state and federal to international tax issues. She represents clients at all levels of tax controversy and litigation, as well as counsels clients on individual and corporate tax planning and transactional projects. She also represents clients who want to take advantage of the state and federal tax credits available for renewable energy and "green" projects.
U.S./Canada Cross Border Services
In our Canada/U.S. Cross Border Practice Group, Natalia works with clients engaged in cross border business transactions, including moving employees, shipping goods across the border, establishing business operations in Canada, and facilitating lending operations across border.
Professional Highlights
Natalia is a cum laude graduate of the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College where she served as a Research Editor for The Journal of Small and Emerging Business Law.
Natalia is a member of the Advisory Board of the World Affairs Council of Oregon and the Steering Committee of the Young Professionals of the World Affairs Council. She is also Secretary to the Board of the Canada America Society of Oregon, which she helped found in early 2007.
Natalia is licensed to practice law in Oregon state courts, and federal district court for Oregon. She is a member of the American Bar Association, U.S. Tax Court and Canadian Tax Foundation.
Natalia was named one of
Oregon Rising Stars in the area of international law by the Oregon Super Lawyers magazine for the year 2008.
