Tanner’s practice focuses on real estate and corporate transactions as well as litigation for closely held businesses and their owners.
REAL ESTATE AND LAND USE
Tanner assists clients in the development, financing, leasing and acquisition/disposition of their projects. He represents clients in real estate litigation and property disputes to resolve violations of land use ordinances.
Tanner effectively represents commercial landlords and tenants in Portland as well as the surrounding counties.
Tanner advises clients on business formation and tax issues. He drafts and analyzes contracts, provides intellectual property services, and assists in the purchase and sale of business entities.
While in law school, Tanner was a judicial extern for the Honorable William P. Robinson on the Rhode Island Supreme Court and was a senior editor of the Boston College Law Review. Before joining Black Helterline in 2021, Tanner practiced at a boutique real estate firm in the Chicagoland area. Outside of the office, Tanner enjoys spending time outdoors with his partner, Hanna, and dog, Nellie.
