David Roy has more than 30 years of experience as a business, transaction and real estate attorney. He previously served as the Managing Partner of the firm for 14 years.

BUSINESS

The focus of Dave’s practice is real estate transactions, general financing matters, mergers and acquisitions, corporate formations and restructuring, cooperatives, shareholder and general corporate matters. He has also assisted international and national financial institutions with commercial and real estate loan transactions, structured workouts, enforcement of creditors’ rights, federal and state regulatory matters, and defense of lender liability claims.

REAL ESTATE

Dave has extensive experience with every facet of real estate law and operations. He has represented owners, sellers, buyers, lenders and borrowers in all types of real estate transactions and related business matters, including entity organization, acquisition, financing, development, construction, sales, leasing, litigation, loan workouts and restructures. Dave’s broad experience in real property transactions and operations provides him with the background and expertise to deal with virtually any property related matter.

ARBITRATION

Dave serves as a neutral and advocate in all types of commercial, construction and dispute resolution proceedings, arbitrations and mediations. He has acted as an as arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, the Arbitration Service of Portland and Multnomah County Circuit Court, as well as private parties.

FAMILY BUSINESSES

A large segment of Dave’s client base are family and group owned enterprises involved in business and real property related matters. Dave has extensive experience dealing with all types of intra-family and organizational disputes and relationships in order to create a cooperative environment that maximizes profit and benefits all members. Dave has taught seminars and published articles on all aspects of family business, including organization, intra-group dispute resolution and family succession and wealth management.
